Got a  e-mail from "Wonga" to aply for a loan, which I did.  Application came through to state that I qualify for a loan for R5000-00 to repay over a period of 2 years. When I contacted the number provided a "Mrs Claudia Marks" answerd the phone.  Telling me I must please print out the loan terms and conditions, so that their attorney must prepare and sign the loan agreement, and that I must pay a amount of R850.00 to set up the paperwork, before they can release the amount of R5000.00.  The banking details they gave me was in the name ofRebecca S DlaminiAcc. no. 1065513267Branch Code . 101070 - NedbankWhen I confronted the "Claudia" person, to find out why do I need to make a payment if I actually need the money, and that they must take it off the loan money, she told me that is how the system works and like she said it is for attorney fees for the contract. Telephone number for this person is +27 612608180, and +277 (0) 843 254 695 their e-mail is wongaloanservice@qualityservice.com   I still have all the paperwork with me and and somehow a danger bell rang, and did not send any money to them.  Now if I phone the line, the person just put the phone down.  I also got hold of the real Wonka loans, and they told me that it is a scam.  Please put it on the site so that other innocent people, don't get scamed out of R850.00

I received the same email with the Sandton Morningside address. Unfortunately I did supply them with my banking details etc. But when they requested that I pay an amount of R1500 to receive an amount of R20000 I became very skeptical of the whole thing. I did my research before continuing & found out that its all a scam. Please be aware of these con artists out there

  • Alsie Booysen 21 May 2014, 05:28 PM

So did i get a sms from nr 0712499105 to email my ID to wonga@qualityservice.com And this will not be the firsat time someone caught me on a scam the previous time it was Mercantile Finance - and i weas so stupid to pay the attorney fees of R2680.00 - they even sent me the confirmation of the money transfer of R150000.00 but i first had to pay another R6000 odd rand before they can release it from the UK. with this we tried to phone the UK number - which did not exist - when i confronted the lady over the phone she said its because its an international transfer - and i told her that i have received transfer from Dubai before and did not pay any transfer fees. She smashed the phone down in my ear and when i tried to phone her back - it was not availible. Cant people like this be stop - because people like us who really need a cashflow urgently cant afford to get caught in such scams. It put me back two months just because i trust people to easily. So please dont even try it - first make double sure of your facts before sending and paying an damm thing.
