Fraudulent Magazine Publications - ABIG

The company trading as ABIG (Africa Business Investment Group) sells advertising in their magazines, but does not actually print or distribute any of these magazines. ABIG only prints a couple of sample magazines, and uploads a digital copy to their website. We have confirmed this with a previous employee, by contacting the other advertisers in their digital copy, and by confirming this with the company that prints their sample magazines.

The magazines involved in the scam are titled Living and Women of Africa. There are others advertised on their website, but they do not form part of our claim.

The content of the magazines has also been flagged as a copyright infringement by the popular digital publication platform ISSUU - which has subsequently taken down their listings.

We are currently pursuing criminal charges against the company and it's directors and encourage anyone that has been caught in the scam to come forward to help strengthen the case before it goes to court.

The last mobile number I had for Clinton is 083 369 0726.

There was an attorney that contacted me, who claimed to specialise in these cases, and was in the process of taking on "Peekaboo Media" - another company Clinton Vurden was involved with. Unfortunately the attorney also required compensation - which I couldn't afford.

I'm sorry to say, but I think the best thing everyone can do is try log and publish as much of their victim story in as many places online as possible. We can then at least try protect and educate potential new victims when they Google "ABIG" or "Clinton Vurden" - hopefully it gets picked up by a news outlet and gets more traction. Just keep your stories honest and factual, quoting as much detail as possible.

There was a webpage dedicated to explaining the issue - but it has subsequently been taken down.

Turns out crime really does pay =(
