At the end of Dec 2016, I was hijacked outside my house in La Rochelle.
I went through the usual method of reporting the incident at the Moffatview police station, and strangely, had a couple of plain clothes cops come and question me about it two days later.

Then after another day had passed, I received a call from a Sargent (Couldn't make out the name), claiming to be from the Harrismith Police Station, and that my car had been recovered en route to Durban.
He said that he could have it towed to me using a private tow company, and it would cost R1500, and that if I waited for the police to do it, it could take up to a year.
I found this odd, and went to the Moffatview Police about it.
They said it was nonsense, that one will always be contacted by the station at which the crime was reported and would never be expected to pay a cent for any police service.
We ascertained that someone within the police with access to dockets Was involved.

Please be careful, and don't be a victim all over again.
