beware of e-wallet scam

I advertised an Xbox 360 with 2 x wireless remote controls, 5 games on OLX. I was contacted by one Elijah who said that he wanted to purchase it from me. He asked me to deliver the goods to him in exchange for cash. I drove to Houghton and went to the meeting point only to find that there was another guy there who said he was there to collect the goods on behalf of Elijah as he was still at work. I spoke to Elijah on the phone and he confirmed saying that he would make the payment immediatedly via Nedbank i-mali. Within 2 minutes I received an sms from the bank informing me that the money had been transferred and I was issued with an OTP number. As I was driving back home, I received an sms from him saying that he had cancelled the transfer. I went to the atm and found that there were indeed no funds available. I contacted him again and he informed me that he would return my goods if I transferred R300.00 via e-wallet to him and he would come to my house to drop off the goods. I then asked him how I could guarantee that he would actually come and he said that he could be trusted. I then asked him why I should pay to have my own goods returned to me and he just kept on insisting that I pay him the R300.00. Needless to say, I have never received my goods or my money from this person. I reported the matter to the police and they said that they would be unable to assist me. I then went to the bank and they were also unable to assist me. This man involved is so arrogant that he continues to answer his cell phone and now only laughs when I ask him if he plans to return my goods. He has obviously done this before many times. He knows he can get away with it. Please be on the look out and only accept cash as a means of payment when dealing with people online for the sale or purchase of goods. He makes use of the following phone numbers 079 294 9713 and 063 533 4035

Hi guys. There is a lady that goes by name Jessica. Her number is ?+27 (63) 799-9986?. She wanted to buy a phone that I was selling but pitched up saying that she would pay me by e-wallet. She said that her daily withdrawal limit was exceeded. Clearly was a scam and I luckily did not release the goods. Haven’t heard from her since. She pitched up with “brother”, both of them being coloured and drives a white Nissan Almera.

I did post on olx that? I was selling my Xbox 360 with 6games and a Kinect. a guy by the name of Isaac called me to ask if I could sell it to him, that he was even gonna send me the money via internet banking or ewallet. but he wouldn't be able to come fetch the goods himself, he'll send his driver. I insisted that he should see the goods first, but he said he didn't have enough time because it was his son's birthday, he had to get him something ASAP. so I agreed that I meet with his driver at the McDonald's restaurant outside East Rand Mall. I got there and his driver was not there yet, then he called to say it's an Uber taxi, not his driver. I waited for nearly an half an hour while we kept on calling each other, with the driver apparently lost. I insisted that I get inside the mall which would make it easier for the driver to meet me. but he wasn't happy with that. all of a sudden I receive a message stating that he transferred the money via ewallet. the message looked legit. the driver was still not there, so I told him I'd go inside the mall so I can check that the money is in. but he complained that I wanted to run away.. so I told I'd wait for his driver. The driver finally arrived and I called so called Isaac to tell him that before I give the goods to the drivers, I'd go inside the mall with the driver to get the money from the ATM then he'd get his stuff. that's when he started panicking, saying that I was too complicated. that even his wife was complaining... mxm. he didn't want me to get to the ATM at all costs, the ATM was like a minute from where I was. anyway I told the driver that I'd go in in any case. I received his call, while the driver also received a call. we were both talking to the same person at the same time! "Isaac"!!! I told the driver to go, the deal was off! I ran quick to the ATM just to double check the ewallet pin. I guess y'all know what I saw, exactly! nothing!! be careful people , he sounds smart on the phone. black guy, Zimbabwean accent. unfortunately a foreigner like me. I guess that's why we're no longer trustworthy in this country, it now makes sense. even his details when he sent me the pin said the money came from a certain panel beating company. let that not fool you! Stay woke. His number is 0782366035.

I was scammed as well. Was able to track them down and I have social media photos and full names as well. They are so dumb they even post social media photos with vehicle registration numbers. Will be going to police.
