Ok yammietzi I'll do that and will try to link it to this page somehow.

  • yammietzi 4 Dec 2017, 01:38 PM

@LittleCherub, no way are you for real? This dude just doesn't give up. Please safe and vigilant.

You will have to open a page on this site and then load the pics.

Sorry but I went back to the UK and returned to South Africa recently. Would you believe this man has JUST TODAY approached me AGAIN via MeetUp? He's calling himself George this time and using a different photo and has approached me via a different MeetUp group to the last time. My photo is different so he's not recognised me as a previous target.

In fact, I just replied to his new introduction and he's literally just replied while I’m typing this so I'm going to string him along again and see what I can discover.

I have several photos of him. Anyone know how I can post them on here?

I think you can see this latest one if you click on here or copy and paste into your browser?

Hi Everyone that has been scammed since October 2016 when the above person joined Meetup. I have red flagged both their numbers (his and so called John). Numbers have been reported to Whatsapp, who in turn is investigating after I sent them my case proof and the above report. Hopefully they won't be able to WhatsApp any longer. I unfortunately don't earn a lot of money and can therefore not spend any money with regards to further private investigations. I'm hoping someone out there might have more information or even go and open up cases at the SAPS, you'll start feeling better, and I have informed Meetup of the new Alias and they'll be on the lookout for the numbers. I've noticed that "Matthew", know that's not his name is still active on WhatsApp. So continue blocking them wherever possible. Thank you for all your assistance with regards to this incident. I need to put my shame behind me and continue with my life which was a great one before all this happened. Please again send warnings to every person thinking of dating on line, hopefully they have better luck, but be very careful, please meet the person long in advance before you commit yourself to anything and feelings.

@Dollie_20 The name Matthew Bruns was made up. The guy in the pictures name is not Matthew Bruns. Someone who can help you with that info is Brian Wolfe from Wolfe Investigations in California, but he is going to charge you for that information. His well know throughout California as a private investigator and he has the equipment to track the scammer down (it doesn't matter where in the world he/she are sitting), he only needs a photo to work with. I couldn't proceed with Brian Wolfe because I don't have that kind of money laying around to track scammers down with. But like I said keep in touch and let us know if you need anything else.

Little Cherub, you mentioned he is younger than pics on Airplane, Do you possibly have any idea what this so called Matthew Bruns might look like.

  • Dollie_20 3 Apr 2017, 11:53 AM

Yammietzi, has the lady mentioned in your reply, report her incident to the police?
Thank you for your further advice. I have reported the numbers to Cell C, Fraud Division and have given further details to the SAPS. If your friend has any furhter info that could be of assistance it would be appreciated. Thank you very much for all your effort in reporting him on the Social Media Networks as well. You have been a great help.

@ Dollie_20 I know Griet Davids well and she was one of the ladies who were scammed and a few of her friends were approached by this guy. I'm still in contact with her via facebook. Unfortunately MeetUp and all the other media networks will not assist as they say he has done nothing wrong. I've managed to report him on almost all the media networks. Ladies remember the cell phone number will not help you because he changes them as soon as they have received money, and you wont be able to trace it unless you contact the network providers' fraud divisions and let flag this dude. They will also be able to obtain the id number registered for the previous numbers used. Dollie_20 you can also log a police incident on the FBI crime site.

Actually feeling sad that the real people in his pics might not know that there profiles are being used for scamming ladies. I hope and pray that the police finds him.

    Good day, LittleCherub,
Thank you for your report below but unfortunately you'll please have to try and obtain the new Alias Surname for George, or as I knew him Matthew Bruns, in order for the SAPS to be able to add below latest information.
Kindly note that it is now your and your friends responsibility to inform Meetup thereof. I'm no longer a Member of Meetup as I've decided to cancel my Membership and can therefor not report any new incidences to them. Should you have further updates or information feel free to report further incidents to the S.A.P.S. as a docket has been opened. Constable CLW Davids is handling the case.
Unfortunately I can no longer be involved in this matter on the advice of my Attorney and the SAPS.
His cellphone number he is still using to send Whatsapps on is: 074 374 2791, I've blocked him wherever possible. Please forward this cellphone number to as many people as possible and most importantly to Meetup Cape Town.

He approached me back in January via Cape Town MeetUp. Luckily, I was suspicious from the start and then Googled his name and found this entry. I decided to string him along to see how far he would go and to waste his time.
He wanted my WhatsApp number but I didn't give it to him.
He gave his gardener's number as 0747139812.
And he used the email address
Please be aware he very recently approached a friend of mine, also via MeetUp, and is now calling himself George!
He uses various photos in his emails but look at them and you will see he is a different age in each!! In the one he claims is himself and a work colleague on their flight to Namibia, he is younger!

Yammietzi, do you possibly have any of the other ladies that he scammed details. This would help my case then.
We apparently need more proof. I await your assistance.

  • Dollie_20 29 Mar 2017, 07:46 AM

Hi Yammietzi, yes I'll be going to the local authorities today. I have kept all the messages and slips.
I'm hoping that I'll be the last woman that this happens to.
Thanks for your report once again.

  • yammietzi 28 Mar 2017, 03:38 PM

Dollie so sorry that you lots so much money, however its now up to us to alert as many ladies as possible before it happens to them too. I know too many ladies he has scammed. Please do not give him any more money. And please go and report it to the police. Keep in touch.

  • Dollie_20 28 Mar 2017, 12:54 PM

According to him he is on a contract in Namibia currently (been there 2 months already). I've unfortunately only now decided to research him - too late, spent R4550 already in transfers done to John (for food Matthews 2 dogs) and Airtime for him. He denies the report of course. According to him someone else is using his picture and profile. Thank you for your report. It saved me from another R4000 and more embarrassment.

  • yammietzi 28 Mar 2017, 11:37 AM

@Dollie_20 pleas be careful as Matthew and the gardener are working together. They will try to convince you to do transfer via Shoprite Checkers Money Market, because once you've deposited the money you will never get it back. Also be aware that they will tell you that Matthew are currently either overseas or out of the country.

  • Dollie_20 28 Mar 2017, 10:51 AM

I am currently in conversation with a Matthew Bruns, Gardiner same name and number. He claims this is not him.
    Please advice?

  • yammietzi 26 Oct 2016, 10:42 AM
