A RFQ/Tender Scam is circulating currently, supposedly for supply of goods to Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
- The RFQ number is 2017/02152/09
- Contact person is NOBUHLE ZUNGU
- Email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
- If you try reply to the email that sent you the RFQ the return mail address is email@example.com
This is a common trend, the RFQ is sent through and there is only one supplier for the specific products needing to be supplied.
In this specific case the product needing to be supplied is:
Qty of 40 units of HOVENER PNEUMATIC CYLINDER MODEL NUMBER
The supplier of these goods is only CT Trading (Pty) Ltd (Website http://www.cttrading.co.za/)
It is a scam, you pay 50% for goods and the supplier "delivers" the goods on your behalf to Dept. of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and in most cases will even send you a signed delivery note for you to pay the balance of the order. When you want to phone the Department to follow up on payment, the original numbers you were using to contact the scammers are no longer in use.
IF you then choose to contact the official Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, you will find out that no such RFQ or item exists and no goods are ever delivered. It is all fictitious.
Please, please, please be more vigilant and research before you make any hasty decisions. Rather be safe than sorry.
